You've just stumbled upon Worden's Ledges in Hinckley Reservation, a spot that's off the beaten path but well worth venturing to. Located near Ledge Lake, the entryway is flanked by two stones that offer a glimpse into the splendor that awaits visitors.

At just under a mile, this Hinckley Reservation hike is pretty easy and coveted by families with young children. It's shorter than the hike at nearby Whipps Ledges, though both have a bit of elevation variation. Bring water and make sure to wear your comfiest hiking shoes!
Of course, it's particularly pretty in the warmer months thanks to its wide variety of wildflowers.

In the earliest moments of bloom, beauties like bluebells and trillium break through the earth. As one of the best wildflower hikes in Cleveland, Worden's Ledges Loop does not disappoint!

Hiram Worden, who built the original home that sat on the property for well over a century, carved some of the original pieces of folk art on the property. However, Noble Stuart, the third husband of Hiram's daughter Nettie, is the artist behind the most extravagant works on the property.
Many of the more elaborate carvings on the property date to around 1945, and though they've weathered, they're still stunning.

Hiram owned Medina Monumental Company, so his work with tombstones uniquely prepared him to create the still-legible carvings out on the ledges. Noble Stuart, on the other hand, was a bricklayer... but he aspired to be an artist, and his skill is undeniable.
Between the flowers and the hidden folk art, hikes here almost feel like a scavenger hunt!

And these beautiful blooms might also bring a variety of critters across your path. Plants like the trumpet vine attract hummingbirds and native insects, so you might spot a few busy bees working during your hike.
As summer transitions to fall, the blooms don't quite slow down.
