Visit Loudonville, The One Christmas Town In South Of Cleveland That’s Simply A Must Visit This Season
Cleveland is enchanting in the winter, but in a big city sort of way. Sometimes, we can’t help but crave a quaint country Christmas. Fortunately for locals and visitors alike, there is a community south of Cleveland that transforms into one of the most magical Christmas villages in Ohio. Though teeny tiny, this gorgeous community belongs on your wintertime bucket list.

Though just a tiny village in Ashland and Holmes counties, Loudonville is endlessly enchanting. It has only about 2,500 residents, but its historic streets, gorgeous landscape, and culture draw visitors from all over the state.

Landoll's Mohican Castle is one of the community's most striking landmarks. It had no blueprints, so its designers lovingly crafted it one room at a time. Inspired by the castles of Europe, this modern structure has old-school charm. This is especially true when their unforgettable holiday decorations go up!

This iconic theater was constructed in 1909, originally serving as the opera house as well as the municipal hall and fire station. Holy cow! To this day it continues to serve the community in more ways than one. In addition to its epic performances and special events, this village hosts community offices, the council chamber, and police department.

Malabar Farm is incredible in the winter. It was originally founded by author and dreamer Louis Bromfield, and he hosted many celebrities at his modern farmhouse. Today, his historic home is a museum, and the surrounding landscape continues operation as a working farm.

WinterFest is an annual celebration that takes place just after the New Year. Its iconic model train set keeps the holiday vibes going as we start the year with a clean slate, and ice carving demonstrations encourage bundled up locals to brave the cold.

Mohican State Park consists of 1,110 acres just a stone's throw south of Downtown Loudonville. This beautiful park is geographically diverse, including a deep gorge and mighty waterways. It is, as you can tell, absolutely enchanting in the winter.
