Libby's Southern Comfort Is A Wonderful New Restaurant Near Cincinnati

Cincinnati is known as a Midwestern city, but most would agree that when you cross the river into Kentucky, you’ve entered Southern territory. Bourbon is the drink of choice, college basketball is a way of life, and you’ll find evidence of Southern roots throughout the Northern Kentucky region. The cities that are situated along the river are often thought of as the Southern neighborhoods of Cincinnati, and thankfully, it’s easy to access them and each one is filled with wonderful features.

One of its newest – and arguably best – features is a Southern-style restaurant that recently opened in Covington. Libby’s Southern Comfort is as charming as its name suggests, and the food and atmosphere are definitely worth a trip to the “South.”

Libby's Southern Comfort is a new addition to the Covington dining scene and is located in the heart of historic Duveneck Square. When you arrive at the large gray building, simply look for the Libby's sign and logo and don't hesitate to step into this lovely restaurant.

This space was once home to Dixie Wholesale Grocery, but has been beautifully restored and modernized. The Southern charm is evident throughout, while the industrial touches keep it fresh and modern.

The dining space isn't large, but rather inviting and cozy. The large windows let in so much light, and when the weather is nice, you can also enjoy a meal in the adjacent outdoor patio space.

Libby's promises Southern comfort, and they deliver with a mouthwatering menu. Of course, they offer a special recipe fried chicken, as well as oysters, a Charlie Brown (their version of a Hot Brown), burgers, fresh fish, salads, sandwiches, and more.

You won't forget that you are just a bridge crossing away from Cincinnati, as the Goetta Hush Puppies have already earned legendary status. No matter when you visit, order these as an appetizer.

Libby's also delivers with their drink menu, which features options that you won't find anywhere else. In a nod to Kentucky and the South, you have to try the Cheerwine Bourbon Slush, or the 8th Street Frose for perfectly refreshing pairing with your meal.

To complete your dining experience, try the Oatmeal Cream Pies. If you can't manage to eat it at the restaurant, take them to go for an unforgettable sweet treat.

Everything about this new Southern-style restaurant near Cincinnati is downright charming. From the smile that greets you at the door to the casual atmosphere and fantastic Southern cuisine, Libby's Southern Comfort has quickly become our new favorite reason to cross the river.
