Cincinnati is a beer town - always has been and probably always will be. The past several years have seen a rapid growth in microbreweries in the area, making these local breweries the place to hang out around Cincinnati. As many work hard to perfect their craft, Cincinnatians are enjoying the fruits of their labor and especially with a visit to the 11th anniversary of the Cincy Winter Beerfest. Beerfest takes place this weekend, February 2nd and 3rd, at the Duke Energy Convention Center and if there's one festival in Cincinnati you attend this winter, make it this one!
Cincinnati's beer scene has always been thriving, but these days, it's more vibrant than ever.
In its 11th year, Cincy Beerfest will take place Friday, February 2nd and Saturday, February 3rd at the Duke Energy Convention Center. Since we are in the dead of winter, this is a great opportunity to get out, socialize, and cure some of that annoying cabin fever.
Beerfest begins on Friday with one session from 7:30pm to 11pm and then continues on Saturday with sessions from 1pm to 4:30pm and 7:30pm to 11pm.
You can choose to purchase tickets in advance (you'll find the website linked below), or at the door. You do save a bit by buying ahead of time, so keep that in mind! There are also different levels of tickets that will get you more samples of beer or even access to a Connoisseur Reception Area. There's an option for everyone to make the event enjoyable.
If you're wondering what to expect at Beerfest, you can expect to find hundreds of craft beers and over 150 breweries represented.
Depending on which type of ticket you purchase, you'll get to try several of the offerings, as well as participate in the festivities happening during the festival. Many of your favorite food trucks and eateries will also set up shop within the convention center, so you definitely won't go hungry.
If you happen to have something going on this weekend and can't make it to the winter edition of Beerfest, look forward to another one in the summer on Fountain Square and another in OTR. Cincinnati is a beer town, so there are plenty of opportunities to celebrate the past and present of the brewing industry here in Cincinnati.
