Are you craving the flavors of Old World cuisine? You could hop on a flight to Europe, but there's a much faster way to enjoy some delicious, authentic German food: visit Bauer Farm Kitchen right here in Cincinnati.
Bauer Farm Kitchen opened just a couple years ago, but it's become a favorite with Cincinnati locals and visitors alike. If you're looking for authentic German food with flair, this is the place to visit.
Address: 435 Elm Street, Cincinnati, OH 45202
While the location is right downtown, you'll feel as though you're visiting a countryside farm house when you're inside. The dining room is rustic, warm, and comfortable.
If you're planning on hosting a group event anytime soon, you'll love "The Barn" - a dining area that can accommodate a large party.
While the atmosphere definitely makes Bauer Farm Kitchen special, it's the food that really shines. The menu is full of shareable seasonal boards and small plates.
The seasonal boards are a bounty of German fare, with hearty breads, seasonal meats and cheeses, house-made pickles, pretzels, spicy mustards, and more.
Small plates include tasty, authentic dishes like sauerkraut balls, seasonal sausage, beef tartare, and babushka pierogies. Order several to share, and get a taste of everything!
Chef Jackson Rouse changes up the menu often, depending on what's fresh and in season. Local ingredients are used whenever possible, and every small plate and entree is fine-tuned to perfection before it leaves the kitchen.
You won't want to leave without dessert, and there's always a new confection waiting to tempt your taste buds.
Shown is the tarte tatin, but offerings vary by season.
Visit Bauer Farm Kitchen for dinner Tuesday through Thursday from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.; Friday and Saturday until 10 p.m. Reservations are encouraged.
