You Can Explore For Hours Upon The Boardwalks At Cedar Bog Nature Preserve In Ohio
There’s never a bad time to get out and explore in nature. Fortunately, Ohio is home to several state parks with plenty of hiking trails. Ohio is also home to some pretty incredible nature preserves as well. If you’re looking for a truly unique trail to hike, Cedar Bog Nature Preserve in Urbana, Ohio is a hidden gem you’ll love to explore. From the wildlife to the landscape, there’s a lot to experience here.

Please note: There is a $5 per person entry fee to visit Cedar Bog Nature Preserve. The preserve is operated by the non-profit Cedar Bog Association and is owned by the Ohio History Connection.

Please note: Pets are not permitted on the boardwalk.

There's also an onsite Education Center, where you can learn all about the bog's history, landscape and wildlife. It's open Thursday through Saturday (and select Sundays) from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. from February to mid-November.

The entire preserve is actually a fen left behind by the retreating glaciers of the Wisconsin glaciation, which was more than 12,000 years ago.
