It is that time of year again! Pumpkin patches are opening across the state, and we’ve located the largest pumpkin patch in Northern California. Located in the bucolic town of Wheatland, Bishop's Pumpkin Farm is the perfect fall day-trip destination. Started in 1973, this family-run farm proclaims to have the world's largest U-Pick pumpkin field, making it a must-visit destination this fall. So put on your boots and plaid flannel, and head to Wheatland to visit this fun pumpkin farm.
Start your visit to Bishop's Pumpkin Farm by enjoying some delicious baked goods.
There are many food vendors at the farm, including Mrs. B’s Bakery where you can purchase homemade pastries.
Take a hayride through the 9 acres of pumpkin, gourd, and squash patches to choose your perfect fall pumpkins.
Then, take a ride on the BPF Line, an open-air diesel locomotive that takes visitors on a tour of the farm.
There are so many activities at this farm, you can easily spend a morning or afternoon here.
The Weeland Petting Zoo invites guests to interact with friendly goats and get a taste for rural farm life. Get lost in the sprawling corn maze or take a ride on Charlie’s Carousel, an old-fashioned merry-go-round.
There is so much to do at this farm! Take a ride on Bishop’s Flying Service, a fun amusement park ride that honors the history of crop dusting in the Sacramento Valley.
For even more adventure, take a turn on the zipline. Starting at 30 feet, this zipline lets guests cruise through the farm on 200 feet of line.
For lunch, you have a lot of choices to pick from.
Head to Pigadeli Square, where pizza, nachos, hot dogs, chicken strips, and a variety of kids' meals await. With seven other spots to grab treats, meals, and snacks, you won’t go hungry.

And keep in mind that Bishop’s is a real working farm, so wear proper shoes and be prepared for changing weather conditions, i.e. bring an umbrella.
Wheatland is located about 40 minutes north of Sacramento, about 15 miles southwest of Yuba City.
Admission is free, but you must purchase tickets for the activities. The farm is open daily from Sept. 9 to Nov. 5, 2023.
