one place to be during this holiday season, it's the Oakland Zoo. Here you can enjoy a dazzling Winter Wonderland of lights while exploring all of the zoo's wildlife and attractions.
ZooLights is currently going on every night from 5:30 pm until 9:00 pm, through January 6. The animal-themed light show is simply stunning and unlike any light display you've seen before.
Soar over the Oakland hills via the gondola (also festively lit) and enjoy a fantastic view of the Bay Area skyline. You'll land at the hilltop Landing Cafe where you can indulge in some hot cocoa and s'mores.
Many of the holiday lights are set to your favorite classic Christmas tunes. The holiday spirit is certainly alive at the Oakland Zoo!
If you wander around enough, you might just stumble across Santa himself. He can often be seen around the zoo, posing for pictures with googly-eyed children.
New this year, visitors will enjoy swirling snowfalls over a illuminated Santa's workshop for the ultimate holiday experience. There's nothing like some snow to really make you feel like you've been transported to the North Pole!
ZooLights is a stand alone event that isn't included in regular membership. Tickets can be purchased for $10 for adults and $9 for seniors and children. For more information, you can visit the Oakland Zoo website
