If you're looking for the best cabin rental in Shingletown in Northern California, you've found it!
This creek-side cabin is nestled in the picturesque Viola area of Shingletown. The spacious 2000-square-foot retreat is a haven away from it all. Located 30 minutes east of Redding off of California Route 44, this rural area offers unparalleled access to Manzanita Lake and the volcanic hiking grounds of Bumpass Hell. After a day of exploration, unwind on any of the three levels of the deck and listen to the babbling creek.
Keep the soothing sounds going inside with the Sonos speaker system. This cabin is equipped with all the modern amenities you’d want, including super-fast Starlink Internet.
An added convenience is the availability of a level 2 EV charger in the garage, provided at an extra cost. For Tesla owners, a J1772 adapter is a must.
The well-equipped kitchen caters to the needs of larger groups, with all the necessary appliances and cookware you’d want, including an Instant Pot.
Coffee enthusiasts will appreciate the diverse offerings, including a pour-over setup, a Ninja coffee maker, a French press, and a Mokapot, accompanied by barista-style mugs.
If weather permits, relax outside on the outdoor sofa, or dine at the outdoor table.
Lounge chairs and a fire pit by the creek invite you to relish chilly evenings with s’mores.
The cabin sleeps a total of eight people, with four bedrooms.
The primary suite features a queen bed, with double doors that open onto the deck. The second bedroom is conveniently located just behind the living area and features a queen bed.
Upstairs you’ll find a loft sleeping area. The front space of the loft hosts a double bunk bed beneath a skylight for stargazing.
The back of the loft offers a king bed and an attached bathroom with expansive windows providing views of the tall trees on the property.
During colder months (typically November through April), a 4WD/AWD vehicle is advisable, as winter conditions may make the short drive from the highway to the cabin challenging. The cabin features a Mitsubishi Heat Pump in the living area and downstairs bedrooms, supplemented by a whole house kerosene heater in the living room for power outages.
If you’re booking this cabin for the summer months, the temperature inside rarely exceeds 80 degrees due to the high elevation (4,500 feet) and the 100-foot tall trees that surround and shield the cabin from the sun.
Pet lovers are welcome, just let the owners know when booking. However, pets are not allowed on furniture or beds, and a fee of $50 per pet per stay is charged for additional cleaning.
For security, two cameras are strategically placed—one in front of the garage and another on the side—to monitor the driveway and the side of the house.
We love this cabin’s location– it’s close to one of the most beautiful parks in California and in a secluded location most people don’t get to experience. From this cabin you can explore other nearby attractions such as Chaos Crags, Jumbles, Sulphur Works, and the Loomis Museum.
Experience the perfect blend of nature and comfort, with access to many outdoor activities at this creek-side cabin.
