Langdon, North Dakota is pretty far out of the way for a lot of people. This quaint town is up in the northeastern - bordering on central - part of the state. It's biggest town for miles around, with a population of 1,878. Despite being a bit of a drive for most people, there is a bakery here that is well worth the trip. After you've tried their donuts, you'll be ready to make the drive all over again the very next day. And that's just the beginning...
All of this and more is waiting for you at The Bread Pan Bakery.
These delicious pastries are homemade daily. Everything is amazing - the long johns are a personal favorite and have yet to be beat by any other. Donuts of every kind, plus they make other baked goods like fresh loaves of bread.
Beyond the bakery, they have awesome lunch specials and constantly changing homemade soups.
Vegetable soup, chicken noodle soup, creamy tomato soup and plenty of other options are available at the Bread Pan to enjoy there or on the go during lunch. They make exceptionally good sub sandwiches, too, and usually have pasta, potato, or macaroni salads - all homemade from scratch, of course - available as well. The home cooked goodness of their meals is apparent as soon as you taste it!
And I'll just let these Bread Pan Bakery caramel rolls speak for themselves...
Even if it's a bit of a drive for you, this place is well worth the miles.
People have stopped through here and said they haven't found any donuts or baked goods that are better anywhere else. If you're from Langdon, you're lucky it's so close by!
The Bread Pan Bakery is located at 722 3rd St, Langdon, North Dakota. Visit their Facebook page for more information.
If you REALLY want to get away from it all for a bite to eat, and I mean really far out there, check out this hidden restaurant in an almost-ghost town on the extreme other side of the state. It's really quite the journey and may require an entire road trip!
