Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park is the perfect summer destination. Beautiful campsites, miles of trails, scenic views, and a convenient location not far from the Bismarck-Mandan metropolitan area. What more could you want out of a state park? Well, this park is also steeped in history, with impressive earth lodges from the Mandan people and army barracks from the “Frontier Army” that can be explored and toured. If you truly want to experience the park’s history, you absolutely must visit it on one of the coolest living history days in North Dakota.
