If you haven't heard of Safe Haven Farm Sanctuary, you'll want to check out the adorable details below. (Warning: cuteness overload.)
Tucked away in the Mid-Hudson Valley, you'll find the beautiful and serene Safe Haven Farm Sanctuary.
The sanctuary provides a lifelong, loving home for farm animals that have been rescued from abuse or neglect.
All of the animals are farm animals. At the sanctuary there are pigs, goats, sheep, chickens, and horses.
The entire staff is passionate about improving the quality of life for the animals that the sanctuary takes in.
Older hens who no longer can produce the amount of eggs that a farm needs are often killed after they are found to not be as useful at 1.5-2 years of age.
Fortunately, Safe Haven Farm Sanctuary rescues many of these chickens and provides them with a much more comfortable way of life.
While many of these animals have had challenging experiences, they still remain ever so friendly and loving to human visitors.
Tours of the sanctuary typically take place the first and third Saturdays and the second Wednesday of each month from May through October at 12 noon.
This wonderful sanctuary runs entirely on donations, and while tours are free, they do have a monetary donation suggestion.
The suggested donation for adults is $15, $10 per child, and toddlers under 2 are free.
If you consider yourself and animal lover, this beautiful sanctuary might feel like a safe haven for you too.
Due to COVID-19, tours are currently suspended. You can still follow along for adorable animal photos and reopening updates by visiting their Facebook page.
