The larger-than-life carvings in the mountainside came to be at the request of Zadock Pratt, a local man who ran the largest shoe leather tannery in the world at the time during the mid-1800s.

In the mountainside, you'll find everything from faces, horses, and other things carved that make this a unique landmark.
