You'll also be rewarded for your effort with sensational views.
Be prepared for some heavy foot traffic along the Poke-O-Moonshine Trail, in Chesterfield, which leads to jaw-dropping views.
Depending on your hiking skills, you may rate the hike between easy and moderate. Many consider it moderate due to the stairs, which can be steep, you'll climb along the way.
The well-maintained trail's start just might be the most challenging with the steep climb, but it levels off before long.
Poke-O-Moonshine Trail spans just under four miles and features such gorgeous natural scenery as colorful wildflowers.
If you're up for the challenge, climb the stairs to the fire tower for 360 degrees views of the landscape, including Lake Champlain and Plattsburgh.
If you're visiting on a particularly busy day, you may have to wait in line to climb to the top of the fire tower.
