The first edition of Governors Ball was held in 2011 at Governors Island in New York City. In 2012, it moved to Randall's Island, where it would stay for many years. In 2021, the festival switched locations to the parking lot of Citi Field, where it would also be held in 2022. This year is the first time it will take place at Flushing Meadows Park.
