The Hidden Trout Farm In New York Where Everyone In The Family Will Have Endless Fun

Here at Only In New York, we’ve subconsciously taken it upon ourselves to showcase all-things trout during the month of April. Down in Livingston Manor on June 8th, you can experience the quirky and wonderful Trout Parade that brings the entire town to life with massive River God and trout puppets – amongst other things! If you’re feeling anxious and can’t wait that long to enjoy a good old outing amongst your favorite fish, then we have another festival in store for you and it’s right around the corner.

Taking you just west of Lake George, the small town of Warrensburg is where you can find the Warren County Fish Hatchery.

Situated right along the Hudson River, Warren County Fish Hatchery has more to offer visitors than you might initially expect of a fish farm or hatchery.

Taking up nearly 40-acres of land in the Adirondacks, the hatchery is stocked with Brook Trout, Rainbow Trout, and Atlantic Salmon.

With 10 display ponds and 1 rearing pond, you'll get plenty of chances to enjoy an up-close look at the trout.

In the display ponds, you'll get to see mature trout that range anywhere from 1 to 5 years of age!

This hatchery is far more than your average fish-based attraction though, the hatchery also has a Canoe Access Site as well as a playground for kids!

Most exciting of all, each year the hatchery hosts its Spring Zing Fishing Clinic and Open House.

Happening this year on Saturday, May 11th, the Spring Zing will bring all sorts of excitement to this riverfront attraction in the mountains.

The Warren County Fish Hatchery is a destination that draws in visitors of all ages, but the Spring Zing is especially wonderful for families to experience.

While the event is up and running from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Spring Zing will have New Yorkers taking a tour of the hatchery.

During the tour, you'll learn some handy fishing techniques, fly tying tips, and stream entomology.

Whether it's rain or shine, you'll be able to visit the hatchery on May 11th to partake in free raffles where lucky winners will be gifted with fishing gear and gift certificates.

If you're looking for a way to keep yourself busy all day long on an upcoming Saturday, plan on attending the Warren County Fish Hatchery's Spring Zing this year.
