Opened in 1966, Rip Van Winkle is a legendary Catskills campground that is home to almost 200 campsites. It’s an amazing place for the whole family to enjoy, and for those with an RV, it provides all the amenities I would ever want for a summer in the great outdoors.  It’s even run by the same family that opened the park, all the way back in the 1960s. Rip Van Winkle campground sits on 160 wooded acres and has options for tent sites, electric and water hookup sites, and full-service RV hookup sites. They really provide something for campers of all styles.

For campers with an RV, though, Rip Van Winkle is ideal. Full hook-up sites include water, an electric 30/50 amp, a sewer hook up and digital cable TV. They also have very powerful WiFi!

The “Fun Zone” at Rip Van Winkle is exactly that: a lot of fun. For the kids, there’s a playground and a swimming pool. You can enjoy games of volleyball, horseshoes, bocce ball and more. There is a golf driving range and an RC track. There’s even an outdoor movie theater. Oh, and did someone say ice cream?

It’s 38 feet tall and 49 feet long and sprays water out of its mouth for only 25 cents. If you need another reason to visit Rip Van Winkle, now you have one, and its name is Pickles.
