Considering the fact that the Adirondack Park is bigger than the Everglades, Glacier, Grand Canyon, and Yellowstone National Parks combined, it's easy to see how you could go your entire life in New York without uncovering some of the lesser-known gems that are hidden away up here. There are plenty of animal parks and wildlife preserves that you can visit around our state, but there just so happens to be a unique farm up in one of our small Adirondack towns that's home to a special group of animals. Keep scrolling to discover a new family-fun adventure!
Featuring more than just New York's tallest mountains, Essex County is home to the Adirondack Buffalo Company.
Located in the small town of North Hudson, the Adirondack Buffalo Company has its very own buffalo farm.
Right in the middle of our gorgeous mountains, the farm spans across 120-acres and is surrounded by beautiful woodland scenery.
An animal that you could once find roaming in herds all around our state, the farm is home to about 40 American Bison.
Adirondack Buffalo Company has a large deck that you can go out on to view the buffalos, even equipped with a viewing scope so you can get a better look at these majestic animals.
From large adults to baby calves, you'll be blown away by the view of these amazing animals in the heart of our Adirondack Mountains.
When you're done soaking in the sights of the animals and sweeping landscapes, you can take a look around the gift shop that's on the farm.
Inside you'll find an array of items, with everything from bison meat, jams, and pastries to shirts, mugs, and rustic home decor.
Open all year long, taking your family up to the Adirondack Buffalo Company is an adventure that your family will never forget.
