Each region of New York state has something to offer that will make you want to head out and explore a different area other than your own. When we find ourselves craving adventure as New Yorkers, many of us love to head to the Hudson Valley. Full of hundreds of miles of hiking trails and thrilling outdoor adventures, the Hudson Valley is every explorer's true paradise. So, grab your friends and family and hit the road because you're bound to love exploring Black Creek Preserve.
Down in Ulster County where you're in New York's scenic Hudson Valley Region, you'll find the Black Creek Preserve.
Right near the town of Esopus, the Black Creek Preserve has 2-miles of hiking trails that will lead you out to the shores of the Hudson River.
The stunning preserve covers 130-acres, primarily made up of a forest full of hemlock trees.
Black Creek Preserve has Yellow, Red, and Blue trails that connect to each other and will lead you out to the Pitch Pine Overlook.
You'll even see lots of people visiting the preserve so that they can check out the threatened species of animals that call this place home, as well as the variety of endangered plants - all of which you'll find informational signage about along the trails.
As much as we enjoy the views from the Pitch Pine Overlook and spending time along the Hudson's riverfront, it's at the very beginning of trail system that you'll find most people's favorite spot!
Spanning across the Black Creek in all of its glory, at the beginning of the Yellow Trail you'll be able to walk across a charming suspension bridge.
Incredible to walk across during the fall season when the preserve's covered in our vibrant fall colors, the suspension bridge is just one of many things in the preserve that make this place so dreamy.
Open all year round from dawn until dusk, explore the gorgeous trail system that awaits you inside of Esopus's Black Creek Preserve.
