Hiking in the Land of Enchantment is plentiful. With endless mountain ranges, deserts, and rock formations, there are beautiful hiking opportunities everywhere you go. This hike in Las Cruces will challenge you just enough that the payoff will feel incredible. When you reach the top, you'll find amazing panoramic views of our beautiful state.
Welcome to Pine Tree Trail!
Just outside of Las Cruces you'll find this 4-mile loop trail in Aguirre Springs National Recreation Area.
This hike should take around 3 hours, so make sure to pack water. If you're heading out in the early morning, there won't be much shade.
During this hike, you'll gain just over 1,000 feet in elevation. Though this trail is classified as a moderate difficulty, some areas are strenuous.
Once you reach the top, the views of the Organ Mountains are astounding.
You can look on for miles and see the needles of mountains sticking out.
Depending on the time of year, there may be snow on top of this peak.
For truly incredible views of the Land of Enchantment, Pine Tree Trail is a perfect hiking trip.
The Pine Tree Trail trailhead is located inside Aguirre Springs Campground at Aguirre Springs Rd., Las Cruces, NM.
