Outside of the small city of Nageezi, New Mexico, the Lybrook Fossil Area, also known as the Lybrook Badlands, is an amazing location dotted with incredible features. The Lybrook Fossil Area Loop is a 2.8-mile loop through the area that provides views of rock formations such as Hoodoos far away from crowds. Before setting out, be sure to prepare for warmer temperatures and rugged terrain.

Composed of sedimentary rock, erosion has created fantastical rock features of all shapes perfect for photography or simply walking though.

The Hoodoos found here are taller than those found in many other locations in New Mexico. The terrain surrounding the Hoodoos is also steeper than the terrain surrounding New Mexico's other Hoodoos.
