We Dare You To Stay In This New Mexico Cave And Not Absolutely Love It

In Northwestern New Mexico, lies a hotel that may be the most unique place to stay in the state. If you’ve ever watched “The Flintstones” and been intrigued by the idea of cave living, then you’ll adore Kokopelli’s Cave. At 1700 square feet, this cave is bigger than many people’s homes and offers the same level of comfort. It has the added advantage of offering fabulous views of the La Plata River valley far below. Kokopelli’s Cave consistently appears on lists of unusual hotels in the U.S. and, since it’s located in Farmington, it’s geographically convenient.

The views from the top of the cliff are spectacular.

To reach the cave, you need to descend a sandstone pathway.

You might want to pack light because you'll be hauling your luggage down here.

This cave is manmade and was originally intended for use as an office. As you can see, electricity isn't an issue.

Most of the rooms center around one central column.

The temperature inside hovers between 68°F and 73°F.

If you're in the mood for cooking, no problem! This cave boasts a fully functional kitchen.

The stonework in the bathroom is gorgeous. It's like bathing in a grotto... if your grotto came equipped with a waterfall shower and jacuzzi.

The views from Kokopelli's Cave are lovely and peaceful.

You'll just have wildlife for company...
