This Winding Scenic Road Is The Perfect Way To Experience Fall Foliage In New Mexico

While the Land of Enchantment is home to many beautiful landscapes, it can be hard to pick the best way to peep the fall foliage as we roll into autumn. This scenic byway isn’t just the best place to see the trees change colors, it’s also an amazing way to experience some of New Mexico’s most beautiful towns and attractions. From old ancient pueblos, to Spanish villages, and a low road along the Rio Grande, this relaxing winding road is the best way to watch the leaves change colors, and see our deserts, mountains, and everything in between from a road up high.

We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life as we all practice social and physical distancing. While we’re continuing to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, we don’t expect or encourage you to go check them out immediately. We believe that supporting local attractions is important now more than ever and we hope our articles inspire your future adventures! And on that note, please nominate your favorite local business that could use some love right now:

Have you traveled along the High Road? What’s your favorite part of the experience? We’d love to hear it in the comments, and don’t forget to share photos from your adventures with us in our New Mexico Nature Lovers Facebook group, or tag us on Instagram by tagging #onlyinnewmexico for a chance to be featured!
