I doubt many of us were around 100 years ago, but luckily, cameras were! It’s so interesting to see what New Jersey looked like throughout the last century, and how much things have changed. Viewing the following photos is kind of like entering a time machine, you can almost imagine what life was like. Do you think things were simpler, or more of a struggle?
With the holiday rapidly approaching, what better way to start this post? These costumes are much less creepy than other vintage costumes I've seen!

This photo was likely taken in or near Elizabeth.
This stunning architectural work is the Traymore Hotel. Some of you may remember it, though it was demolished in 1972.
President Grover Cleveland sits in his study at Westland Mansion in Princeton.
Taken shortly before the railroad tracks in the area were depressed.
Now filled with luxury condo complexes, Edgewater was once a very industrial area.

This photo was taken shortly after the terminal was built. Much remains the same!

It's incredible to see how much the boardwalk has changed, though you'll likely still see plenty of Coca-Cola! Note the advertisement encouraging beach-goers to conserve food, very common during WWI.
