The One Waterfall In New Hampshire Where You Can Drive Right Up To The Water
New Hampshire offers some of the best views and outdoor activities in New England. We can all agree on that! But, while we’re always grateful for the opportunity to enjoy the landscape here we’re not always looking for a serious hike. That’s why we love that this gorgeous waterfall can be taken in just by driving into the parking lot.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. If you know of a local business that could use some extra support during these times, please nominate them here: onlyinyourstate.com/nominate
If you love the idea of exploring New Hampshire's best waterfalls without a ton of effort, make your way to Beaver Brook Falls Wayside just off of Route 145 in Colebrook.
Once you've parked, make your way to the green space where you'll find a few benches and picnic tables right in front of the waterfall. This is perfect for a quick stop. And if you don't want to get out of your car you're in luck, because the view is perfect right from here.
The falls drop an impressive 80 feet, which makes the fact that you don't need to hike to the base to take it in even more impressive. Visits in the spring and the fall are likely to be roaring with the winter snow melt. Make your way there in the winter and the surroundings will be beautiful but more subdued.
Beaver Brook Falls is accessible year-round, but during the off-season, it’s not always staffed. If you choose to make your trip during an off-season time, be sure to take some extra caution during your visit as conditions can be slippery if you choose to walk to the falls from your car. In addition to the smell of ocean water in the air on rainy days in Portland, she loves puppies, photography, funny people, the Maine Red Claws, traveling, fresh tomatoes, Cambodia and filling out forms.
