When it comes to history, New Hampshire has a lot of it. You'll find it in stories told by family who have been here a long time. You're also likely to find it in the attics of the very same people sharing these stories. While some of us already have access to antiques that are a part of the Granite State's history courtesy of our older family members, there's something more fun about searching for it ourselves. If you agree, you'll love this two-story shop!
Welcome to Fern Eldridge and Friends Antiques in little Northwood! The store, housed in a two-story barn dating back to the 1700s, can be found on Northwood’s Antique Alley on US Route 4 next to Northwood Town Hall.
While many antique shops feel like a hodge-podge of activity without much rhyme or reason, this place is organized like a dream.
Each area is laid out like an actual room so you can picture how the antiques might fit within your own home.
This is great for folks who know they like vintage items, but don't know exactly how to integrate them into their homes.
Each individual vendor selling items within the store has a specialty and after you've visited a few times you'll get to know what each one offers.
We love the wide range of things for sale here, from true New Hampshire items to things you might find across the country.
And the staff is so friendly and helpful. Have questions about the history of something? Just ask!
The more you visit, the more you'll get a sense of what you like. And, we can almost promise that you'll leave with something!
Fern Eldridge and Friends Antiques is typically open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. For up-to-date hours follow them on Facebook. They can be reached on 603-942-5602. While you're in Northwood you'll want to check out the other antique shops. This tiny town in New Hampshire is an absolute heaven if you love antiquing.
