Dixville Notch is located in Coos County, in the northern part of New Hampshire. It might be a bit off-the-beaten path for some, but it's worth the time it might take to visit.

The town might be best known for being the first place to cast their primary vote in each presidential election. This tradition dates back to 1920 and in 1960 the town became the first place to cast their votes in presidential elections. These results are the first to come in and always help stir up political excitement on the eve of these important elections.

The journey to get to Dixville Notch is beautiful. The closer you get, the more you'll find yourself surrounded by nature. This means green trees in the summer and fall foliage in autumn.

The town is also home to Dixville Notch State Park. This 127-acre beauty offers hiking trails, streams and brooks and beautiful scenery. It's also home to Table Rock offering an incredible view out over the land.
