10 Amazing Places You Can Go On One Tank of Gas in New Hampshire
The great thing about living in a small state is that you can see a lot of amazing places on one tank of gas. That’s especially the case in the lakes region and white mountain areas, where gorgeous natural attractions are close together.
Our trip starts and ends in New Hampshire’s capital, Concord. That gives easy access to the rest of the state, and you should have plenty of gas in your tanks to reach Concord from your home.

While you're in the state's capital city, you might as well visit the state's capital building. Not only is it beautiful, but a great place to learn about New Hampshire history.

From the capital, head north on I-93 toward Lake Winnipesaukee. Weirs Beach is the perfect place to enjoy a swim, lunch, or a good old fashioned arcade stop.

After enjoying the lake, head north to Rattlesnake Mountain, where you can enjoy amazing views of Squam Lake, Winnipesaukee's neighbor to the north. The hike is short and sweet (under 2 miles).

After your hike, continue north to Lincoln, where you can visit Clark's Trading Post, an amusement park and shopping attraction that the whole family will love.

From Lincoln head east along the Kancamagus Highway. Be sure to stop at the look-outs along the way and visit lower falls on the Swift River, where you can enjoy another swim.

At the other end of the Kancamagus you'll find North Conway, where you can enjoy some great shopping, whether at Zed's General Store or at the many outlets in town.

Continue North to the tallest peak in the north east, Mount Washington. You even have enough gas to take the auto road to the top to enjoy the view.

Once you've come back down to sea level, head west toward Littleton, where you can enjoy a great meal at the Littleton Diner.

Now that your belly is full, enjoy the long but scenic ride to Hanover. This charming college town is drop-dead gorgeous and full of small-town New Hampshire charm.

End your New Hampshire adventure with a visit to Mount Kearsarge, a gorgeous yet underrated hike in Winslow State Park.
From Warner, it is a short drive back to Concord, where we started, and on to your home. We bet you even have gas to spare!
