Everyone In New Hampshire Should Experience This Sunrise Drive At Least Once
It’s no secret that a drive to the summit of Mount Washington is a breathtaking drive. Now just imagine how beautiful it would be to watch sunrise from that summit – the highest point in the North East. Well, you don’t have to imagine any more. On August 28th the Mount Washington Auto Road opens at 4:30 a.m. so that visitors can drive to the top to see a new day begin in a truly unforgettable way.

The sunrise drive - which happens three times a summer - gives visitors the chance to take in sunrise from the roof of New England. Be sure to bring your camera for some truly unforgettable views.

On a clear morning you can see all the way to the Atlantic Ocean from the summit of Mount Washington. No wonder it gives such breathtaking views of the sun rising from the east.

Just look at that!

Even when the morning isn't clear the views are exquisite.

On the days of the sunrise drive, visitors can drive to the summit in the dark, arriving up to an hour before sunrise in order to watch a new day break on the horizon.

Be sure to bring your coat, however, because even in the summer it's cold on the roof of New Hampshire!

You won’t mind getting up early for this drive!
