There’s Nothing Better Than New Hampshire’s Natural Lazy River On A Summer’s Day
Imagine spending a hot summer day slowly floating down a river in a comfortable raft, beer in hand and friends by your side. If this sounds like heaven to you like it does to us, you’ll want to check out Saco Canoe Rental Company.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. If you know of a local business that could use some extra support during these times, please nominate them here: onlyinyourstate.com/nominate
We'll do our relaxing on the Saco River, a 136-mile long river running through parts of New Hampshire and Maine. The river is wide and shallow, and has many sandy beaches along its shores.
Located in Conway along the banks of the river, Saco Canoe Rental Company offers the perfect base for a day on Saco River. It's a large rental operation that has canoes, kayaks, paddleboards, and tubes to offer. What we're most interested in, of course, are those tubes!
The company has several tubing trip options to choose depending on who is in your group and how adventurous you're feeling. They range from 1.5 to 5 miles, and though the timing varies depending on water levels and the route you choose, you're looking at spending anywhere from 1-7 hours on the river. They make it easy for you, by shuttling you to the location where you start the trip - you'll then end it back where your car is parked.
The tubes are comfortable, with backrests, and you can also get a cooler tube so you can bring along your favorite snacks and beverages (adult or not).
If you want a little more adventure, choose the trip that goes through some rapids. You can also pull of to the side to play on the rope swings you'll find along the river, or hang out on the shore for a while.
