Live music outside is a staple of summertime. I love to watch a good band on a sunny afternoon. The music, the camaraderie, the good vibes — it all adds up to a fine day out. Or in this case, three days out. No matter if you are attending for one day or spending the entire weekend, this NH music festival celebrating the blues is one you should not miss.
The annual White Mountain Boogie N' Blues takes place each August on the grounds of Benton's Sugar Shack in Thornton.
This is the largest outdoor blues festival in New Hampshire. There is easy access to Interstate 93 and local accommodations.
The stage is situated within a natural amphitheater. The event's location in a 72-acre pasture makes for a comfortable setting to enjoy the music.
The festival is a family-oriented event so kids are welcome, but your pets will need to sit this one out.
Camping spaces are available for tents, pop-ups, travel trailers, or slide-in pick-up campers that are less than 20 feet.
Past performers at the festival have included Larry "Mud" Morganfield, the son of the late blues great Muddy Waters.
To order tickets for this NH music festival and to learn more about this year's roster of artists, visit the White Mountain Boogie N' Blues Festival website. If traveling to visit the event, there's no better place to stay than this rustic lodge.
Other music festivals around New Hampshire worth checking out are the Wildquack Duck Race & Music Festival in Jackson and the New Hampshire Music Festival in Plymouth.
