We like to say “It’s what’s on the inside that counts” and “Don’t judge a book by its cover,” etc. when talking about people. Well, the same can apply to businesses, especially restaurants. Not every great eatery presents itself with flash and flair; sometimes you have to get past the front door to see the real beauty. We have a great example. Located in a quiet strip mall with plain dark windows, this incredible Thai restaurant in Henderson, Nevada, is like a little secret waiting to be discovered.
From the outside, you would have no clue that a wonderful dining experience exists inside. Gaati Thai Kitchen uses the freshest ingredients to prepare classic Thai recipes and innovative dishes with authentic flavors from all regions of Thailand.
Step inside and the vibe is warm and inviting with the stylish atmosphere of relaxed fine dining, not at all what you expect when walking by the outside. In addition to the traditional menu, Gaati offers a variety of seasonal dishes and weekly chef specials.
The food and beverage prep area behind the gorgeous wooden counter is clean and filled with homey touches.
The authentic dishes are as beautiful as they are delicious, from curries and noodles to stir fries and my personal favorite, Pineapple Fried Rice.
How can you resist the freshly deep-fried wontons or spring rolls? Even in pictures, you can see how light and crispy they are!
“Gaati” means coconut milk in Thai. This creamy deliciousness is essential in authentic Thai cuisine and is the base of many of the restaurant’s offerings, from curries and soups to drinks and desserts.
I truly believe that no Thai meal is complete without an authentic dessert like Mango Sweet Sticky Rice, prepared with freshly sliced mango and creamy coconut milk, and served with a gorgeous presentation. Did you know this dessert is traditionally eaten with the hands?
If this is not your favorite, Gaati has your sweet tooth covered with homemade coconut ice cream, fried banana, a signature Gaati Thai Sundae, and even chocolate lava cake.
Don’t forget to try the traditional Thai Iced Tea, Thai Coffee, or a Thai Tea with Coconut Cream - a perfect choice for anyone who prefers dairy-free and every bit as delicious as the original.
This little Thai restaurant is a true hidden gem in Nevada. Have you ever eaten here? We would love to hear your thoughts, and your other favorite Henderson restaurants, in the comments. You can see the full menu on the Gaati Thai Kitchen website. Looking for more? We have a great collection of fantastic places to try in Nevada.
