Verdi, Nevada is a small town in Washoe County, right on the border of California. The population of this small town is about 3,000, and it was named after Italian opera composer Guiseppe Verdi when Charles Crocker - founder of the Central Pacific Railroad - pulled a piece of paper with his name on it out of a hat. Verdi is a pleasant Nevada small town and community that's worth a visit at any time of the year, but you might like it best in the fall when it's one of the best fall day trips in Nevada.
