The next time you're looking for a quick and easy adventure that still boasts plenty of natural beauty, be sure to check out the Little Falls Trail in Nevada's Spring Mountains. At less than a mile long, this trail makes for a delightful jaunt through one of southern Nevada's most beautiful landscapes. Plus, you'll be treated to the sight of a gorgeous little waterfall at the end! Sounds like a lovely time, right? Check it out?:
Located in the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area is a short out-and-back trail that leads adventurers straight to a hidden waterfall. Additionally, the views along the way are simply outstanding and will make you feel as if you've entered another world.
The Little Falls Trail is a humble 0.3-mile spur trail that branches off from the area's Echo Trail. Keep in mind that you do have to complete a 0.8-mile trek to the falls trailhead. All in all, this journey will take a little over two miles.
To get to the trailhead, take Kyle Canyon Road from the Spring Mountains Visitor Center. Continue on the road and stay right onto Echo Road. Echo Road will take you directly to the Echo Trailhead, which you can then take to get to the Little Falls Trailhead.
The hike itself, although short, is absolutely stunning. From the trailhead, hikers will be led straight through a landscape that's rich with pine and fir trees, looming cliffs, and breathtaking panoramas of the surrounding mountain scenery.
Near the end of the trail, hikers will find themselves surrounded by humongous limestone cliffs that create a narrow canyon. The cliffs are downright jaw-dropping, and a great reminder of the powerful forces of erosion!
Finally, at the end of the trail is where you'll spot the waterfall known as Little Falls. It's easy to see why it got its name but despite being small, this waterfall makes for a delightful sight. Take some time to sit, relax, and take it all in.
You can return to the trailhead by simply retracing your steps back to Echo Trail. From there, you can continue on Echo Trail for a lengthier journey or call it a day and leave satisfied knowing you found one of Nevada's most gorgeous hidden waterfalls.
