Located off of Highway 6 near Tonopah is a little slice of paradise known as Fish Lake Valley. It's here that you'll find the most idyllic hot springs tub, perfect for relaxing in and forgetting about the rest of the world.
Fish Lake Valley Hot Springs is located on property owned and operated by Esmeralda County and it's completely open to the public. Not only is this an awesome hot spring soaking destination, but it's perfect for wildlife viewing, camping, and birding as well.
However, what really draws travelers in is the concrete pool that is constantly flowing with 105-degree water. The tub can easily accommodate six to seven people, and it couldn't be set in a more scenic location.
The pool's water is piped in from a thermal source and it overflows into the nearby ponds that you can also wade in. This place is downright gorgeous, but it's surprisingly unknown. If you visit, it's likely you'll be soaking in solitude.
With nothing but the sight of the mountains in the distance and the sounds of honking birds to keep you company, this is a tranquil escape from civilization that is bound to please. Do keep in mind that the hot springs is known to follow the practice of "clothing optional" despite nearby signs that prohibit it.
The site does contain a few amenities such as a vault toilet, stone sink basin, a parking area, and several cooking grills. However, visitors of this delightful hot spring should always follow the "pack out what you pack in" method since the remote location can make this place hard to manage.
