Travel back in time to our state's early days when you spend a few nights at the famous Cobb Mansion in Virginia City. The mansion is both a beautiful place to stay and chock full of history, and you're bound to love every minute of it.
The Cobb Mansion is an elegantly restored, three-story Victorian mansion in the heart of Virginia City. Complete with period furnishings and vintage decor, you may find yourself questioning what century you're in as soon as you walk through the door.
The mansion has operated as a wonderful bed and breakfast for years and it's open year-round. All rooms look like they are straight out of the 1800s, complete with their very own private bath. And don't worry, there is WiFi.
The Cobb Mansion makes for an excellent place to stay during your visit to one of Nevada's most historic cities. However, it's also an attraction in itself. During your stay, you'll get to know the mansion's incredible history and it's downright fascinating.
The mansion was constructed shortly after the Great Fire of 1875 destroyed most of the town. It was originally owned by Herman J. Harris, a local businessman who owned a cigar shop on 'C' Street. It wasn't until 1944 when William Cobb and his wife bought the mansion from Harris for $300.
Today, the mansion boasts a foyer, a formal parlor, a family parlor, a formal dining room, kitchen, butler's pantry, six bedrooms, and an office. It's in spectacular condition considering its age, and you can't help but feel at least a little "posh" while staying here.
It only makes sense to stay the night in a historic B&B such as this one when visiting the Old West-style town of Virginia City. For more information about Cobb Mansion, be sure to check out their website here.
