Here in the Silver State, we enjoy close access to some of the most beautiful rustic camping spots in the country. If you, like us, are the type of camper who really likes to immerse themselves in the stunning oasis that the backcountry has to offer, then Nevada is definitely for you! One of the most memorable rustic camping experiences awaits you at this beautiful group campground in the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area. Be sure to bring plenty of friends because this is a unique opportunity to rent a whole campground. It's one of the best group campgrounds in Nevada and can accommodate dozens of people. The more, the merrier!
Get away from it all and immerse yourself in the incredible tranquility of the Spring Mountains when you rent the Mahogany Grove Group Campground for a night.
One of Nevada's most beautiful group campgrounds, Mahogany Grove is located just 40 miles from downtown Las Vegas, but it feels light years away from the crazy chaos of city life. Once here, you'll enjoy epic sweeping views of the surrounding mountains and forest. It's truly an oasis in the middle of the desert.
The campground itself is comprised of six group areas, which can accommodate 24-48 people. One thing is for sure with Mahogany Grove: you won't have to worry about noisy tent neighbors (except maybe the ones you bring with you.)
The campsite is actually located near the remnants of an original Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) campground from the 1930s. There's even a short interpretive trail that's loaded with educational panels regarding the CCC and their work in the Spring Mountains. Historic camp stoves, benches, and shade structures can also be found in the area.
The group sites each contain plenty of picnic and serving tables, grills, campfire circles, and tent pads. However, the sites are tent only, so be sure to leave the RV at home. The roads and parking areas are well-paved, making it easy to access the group campground despite the rugged location.
When you rent an entire campground at Mahogany Grove, you can really take advantage of the many natural attractions that the Spring Mountains have to offer. The world's oldest organism, the Bristlecone Pine, can be found here. Additionally, the mountains are loaded with natural springs that are perfect for escaping the desert heat.
Keep in mind that Mahogany Grove is for group rental only, so be sure to have a handful of friends that would like to tag along with you. The campground is typically open from April through November and reservations can be made on the Recreation.gov website.
