The Nevada Ghost Story That Will Leave You Absolutely Baffled
Nevada’s a pretty scary state, and we’ve got
plenty of ghost stories to go around. However, the ghost story featured here may just turn your blood cold. It’s fascinated ghost hunters for decades. This place has even gained the reputation of “scariest place in the West”. You might find yourself agreeing with that statement after reading about this insane ghost story. Have you heard of this haunted tale before?
Rainbow Ridge Park is a nice little suburban park located in Reno, Nevada. Just west of the park is Robb Canyon, the site of a horrific murder that continues to haunt the canyon to this day.
Walking down Rainbow Ridge and looking over to the canyon, it doesn't look haunted. It actually looks anything but haunted. The region seems to be completely normal and you'll often see joggers, people walking their dogs, or children playing in the park.
Rainbow Ridge Park is actually a very nice public park complete with playgrounds, designated walkways, basketball hoops, and picnic tables. It's so ordinary that most people don't bat an eye at it. However, the area's looks are deceiving. Something terrible happened here and the memory of that event lives on.
Canyon residents are on the fence about whether or not Robb Canyon is truly haunted.
Some residents are pretty tight-lipped about the place. They don't want negative attention brought to the area. Other residents are open about their experiences. Many of them have witnessed at least one, if not many, paranormal events. The most common occurrence is hearing strange sounds and seeing lights coming from the canyon. Some say they've even heard unexplained screams. But what is the source of this paranormal activity?
In the early 1970s, four murders occurred in the canyon. The mutilated bodies of three men and one woman were uncovered.
At the time, the canyon was a remote location. There were no suburbs or park surrounding the area. The identities of the bodies were never discovered and the murders were never solved. Some consider the murders to be merely urban legend. There are no reports about the murders that can be found. It's as if the killings never occurred at all.
People have reported ghost sightings and paranormal events to the
Haunted Robb Canyon blog since 2004. How have so many experienced weird activity in the canyon if the murders are just myth?
Today, the canyon is a popular place for ghost hunters. Videos of paranormal enthusiasts visiting the canyon at night time are all over YouTube. Whether you believe the legend or not, you have to admit there's something strange going at in Robb Canyon.
