Great Basin National Park is one of our state's greatest treasures. Despite its national park status, the park is delightfully underpopulated by tourists. It's almost like Nevadans and only Nevadans know this place exists. The next time you decide to explore this wonderful park, consider staying at Grey Cliffs Campground.
Grey Cliffs is a downright dreamy campground that provides easy access to some of the park's greatest features. On top of that, the campground boasts some incredible scenery that will make you feel like you've entered a secret oasis of natural beauty.
The campground itself is tucked beside giant limestone cliffs and is surrounded by breathtaking forests of pine trees. It's truly a picture-perfect setting! This is how camping should always be, don't you think?
In its entiriety, Grey Cliffs contains 16 campsites, two of which are wheelchair accessible. The camping fee is merely $15 for individual sites and $30 for group camping. However, water is not available at this particular site. The closest spigot is located 1.4 miles away at Baker Creek Campground.
Grey Cliffs is located in close proximity to many of the park's greatest treasures. The Baker Lake Trail is nearby, along with the stunning Lehman Caves and jaw-dropping Wheeler Peak. If you haven't explored Great Basin National Park before, this makes for a great base camp.
This campground is one of the lowest, elevation-wise, in the park. Therefore, it's a great site to take advantage of in the cooler months since it doesn't get as cold as the other campsites.
The best thing about camping at Great Basin? The night skies. It's so incredibly dark here which makes for some extraordinary stargazing. If this isn't heaven, we really don't know what is. Add this lovely campground to your bucket list pronto!
