Visit This Unique Wildlife Sanctuary In Nebraska With A Boardwalk Trail Over The Water
There aren’t many urban spaces where you can go to enjoy wildlife in its natural habitat. There’s one wetland sanctuary right in Omaha where you can walk the trails, admire the animals, and feel like you’re a million miles from the city.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. If you know of a local business that could use some extra support during these times, please nominate them here: onlyinyourstate.com/nominate
Address: 11809 Old Maple Road, Omaha, NE, 68164
Walking the trails is always free, but donations are gratefully accepted. To find out more about classes, clubs, and upcoming events, visit Heron Haven’s website. Happy wildlife watching!
