The first American Arbor Day was organized and promoted by J. Sterling Morton of Nebraska City, Nebraska. This event occurred on April 10, 1872 and on that day, historians believe that around one million trees were planted in the Cornhusker State. Since then, Arbor Day has been celebrated every year in the United States, and today, Arbor Day Farm exists to recognize this holiday every day, all year long.

Arbor Day Farms is an attraction on 260 acres in Nebraska City. It includes the 140-room Lied Lodge, Apple House Market, Arbor Lodge State Historical Park, and the one-of-a-kind Tree Adventure activity that your whole family will enjoy.
