Situated in the tiny town of Auburn, Nebraska, Dutch Pantry is a nondescript little bulk foods store, bakery, and coffee shop.
It carries all of the things you'd expect to find in such a store: baking supplies galore, garden seeds, candy, small household items, and lots of odds and ends.
Many people love to stop in for the homemade baked goods, party platters, and a well-stocked deli case with a wide selection of meats and cheeses, to name a few.
You've never tasted heaven until you've bitten into one of these warm, pillowy soft, perfectly-glazed confections. They're only made once a week and they tend to go fast, so if you want some, plan to arrive early in the day.
But don't worry if you miss the donuts. There's a whole lot of delicious homestyle food to be had at Dutch Pantry every day of the week. The sandwiches get especially high praise for their fresh ingredients and hearty flavors.
It doesn't get much better than the handmade soups the store serves during the cooler part of the year. The rotating varieties are all yummy and promise to warm you up even on the coldest day.
If you're up for some dessert, handcrafted pies are among Dutch Pantry's specialties. You'll be a hero when you bring one to a potluck or holiday gathering!
In addition to freshly-prepared meals and the ingredients to make your own meals at home, there's a choice that's somewhere in the middle: frozen take-and-bake meals. Bring home a frozen lasagna and pop it in the oven whenever you need a quick, hearty dinner.
