There's good news for antique and junk-shop fans in Nebraska: this one-of-a-kind store in Union lets you shop till you drop, then sleep just a few steps away. InnJunktion is the Airbnb side of Union Junktion, an eclectic shop carrying vintage items, antiques, refurbished treasures, and "junk."

The word "junk" is used in the most affectionate way here, of course. What you'll find inside Union Junktion is a delightful selection of a wide variety of products.

The historic building once housed the town's grocery store. Its gorgeous architectural details are just as much of a treasure as the inventory.

Renting the room at the InnJunktion also gives you access to the entire 2,000-square-foot store. Wander, look, and shop as long as you like, then just let your hosts know if you'd like to purchase anything.

We don’t know about you, but when we’re traveling, we’re always on the lookout for the most unique vacation rental in Nebraska. Skip the hotels, leave the tents at home, and book a stay at this distinctive little VRBO property in Ainsworth, NE. Its comfy furnishings and retro styling will make you feel right at home. You’ll love everything about this filling station VRBO in Nebraska as much as we do. Not only is it one of the coolest rentals, but it’s also one of the best places to stay in Nebraska.

When you're driving through Ainsworth, Nebraska, you might notice this charming little Conoco station that looks like it just stepped right out of the early 20th century.

Get a little closer, though, and you'll see that it's not a filling station - it's actually labeled "Philing Station."

That's because this Conoco station has been transformed into one of the cutest, dreamiest vacation rentals in the state. Owners Phil and Marsha bought the building in 2016 and spent three years restoring and updating it.

The rental officially opened for the 2019 vacation season, and it's become a favorite among Nebraska travelers.

The color scheme and decor are straight out of the '50s. Don't worry about leaving the modern world behind completely, though - the Philing Station is equipped with a smart TV and free wifi.

But there are also books, vintage board games, and a working hi-fi for playing the records provided.

The walls are adorned with vintage signs, license plates, and other car-related memorabilia tying together the whole vintage filling station theme.

A maximum of four people are allowed to stay at the Philing Station. A queen bed, two twin beds, and a futon will accommodate you and your traveling companions.

The adorable little kitchenette is outfitted with all of the expected kitchen appliances, and the cupboards are stocked with basic cookware, dishes, and silverware.

Start your day off right with breakfast at the red Formica table. You can even use the washer and dryer to do your laundry before getting back on the road.

There are all kinds of amazing recreational activities in the area. Valentine National Wildlife Refuge, the Cowboy Trail, Smith Falls State Park, and the Scenic Niobrara River are all just a short distance from the former filling station.

However, if staying put and relaxing is more your speed, you'll love the fenced backyard with its vintage outdoor furniture and gas grill.
