The Wyoming Trail That Leads To A Stairway Waterfall Is Heaven On Earth

Tucked away in the mountainside near the Biscuit Geyser Basin in Yellowstone National Park, you'll find one of the most gorgeous waterfall hikes in Wyoming.

This 3.5 mile loop trail from the Artemisia Trail Head takes you up into the hills...

...leading to an incredible overlook of the basin and park.

Keep climbing and you'll be rewarded with a few of the breathtaking Mystic Falls.

This 70-foot staircase cascade is part of the Little Firehole River, which feeds into the famous Firehole River, one of Wyoming's most amazing swimming spots.

These falls were named the Little Firehole Falls by the Hayden Survey, which mapped the region in 1872. Less than a decade later, though, the Arnold Hague Survey renamed them Mystic, and it stuck.

As you wind your way back down after exploring the falls, you'll be mesmerized by the incredible sights you see on the way.
