There’s An Emerald Waterfall Hiding In Wyoming That’s Too Beautiful For Words

The trail to Porcupine Falls is one of the most highly rated in the Bighorn Mountains, and if you've never made the trek, plan a trip this year.

Though it is less than a mile from the trailhead to the falls, it's a rocky hike, and you'll want to be wearing boots.

Take your time on the journey down and appreciate the views descending into the canyon below.

The trail is typically well maintained, with a stone and wood staircase that leads you right to your destination. (Just keep in mind that on the way back out, you'll being climbing up out of the canyon for quite a long distance.)

When you finally see the waterfall, it will take your breath away! The last few yards are particularly rocky.

Once you make it down to the pool, you'll be in love. The emerald green water is perfect for wading; although, like many Wyoming ponds, it is very cold most of the year.
