Adventure Awaits At This Drive-Thru Safari Park In Wisconsin

Wildwood Zoo in Marshfield, Wisconsin offers both walkable and driving safari experiences to view a variety of impressive animals.

In Marshfield Wisconsin, you can visit Wildwood Zoo in two ways. You can park your car and stroll the shaded paths and take in the zoo’s impressive animal exhibits. Or you can also take a driving safari that allows you to see some amazing animals from the comfort of your vehicle. You might forget you’re in Wisconsin, but you’ll never forget this adventure!

The zoo is located in Marshfield, a city in Central Wisconsin that’s a doable day trip from most areas of the state. The zoo was founded in 1937 and it has become one of the state’s premier zoos.

The walkable part of the zoo has some interesting exhibits, including twin Kodiak bears Munsey and Boda and an impressive cougar exhibit.

To see many of the zoo’s large animals, you’ll want to stay in your car and do the driving tour.

You’ll pass some massive bison. You can pull over to get a better look and if you get out of the car, a large fence will keep you safe.

You’ll also see majestic American elk. Elk are some of the largest animals in North America and it’s hard not to be impressed when you see one up close!

The large animal drive also will take you past mountain goats, timber wolves, and white-tailed deer. If you have a camera with a zoom lens, you may want to bring it and make your visit a photo safari!
