With the magic of fall right at our doorstep, we feel so lucky to live in a state like Virginia where the foliage is always magnificent. This time of year, we love featuring our gorgeous state parks which offer some of the most spectacular perspectives of this natural phenomenon. One prime example is Leesylvania State Park. Situated on the shores of the Potomac River, this area offers wooded trails and shoreline excursions to bring you the best of the season.
Let's take a peek at what's in store:
Tucked away along the scenic river in the southeast portion of Prince William County, you’ll find Leesylvania State Park. The exact location of the park is 2001 Daniel K. Ludwig Dr., Woodbridge, VA 22191
This state park has an impressive history, as it was the home of Native Americans for thousands of years. Captain John Smith also visited this site as early as 1608.
Today, visitors will enjoy the breathtaking scenery on both land and water, surrounded by gorgeous fall foliage.
Hikers can choose from five gorgeous trails that wander along the gorgeous spectacle of the Potomac River.
Less than half a mile long, the Potomac Trail follows the shore of the river and is simply delightful during the fall season.
As you stroll over the bridge, you can delight in the feeling of entering a tunnel of fall foliage with a gorgeous view of the river.
You might consider packing a picnic so you can enjoy lunch on the shore with a view!
