There are a handful of trendy restaurants serving savory cuisine in Burlington, Vermont. A recent newcomer to this list is the Great Northern, a unique eatery serving organic farm-to-table fare in a rich, dark-brown decorated space. The restaurant is located in a former industrial-size warehouse building and has been exquisitely renovated with architectural features that include fabulous wood arches, flanks, and a triad of mirrors that fit perfectly in the wide-open spaces that the building allows.
Located on Pine St. in Burlington, The Great Northern first began serving customers in early 2017. Apart from serving lunch and dinner, the restaurant has a raw bar, a full-stack bar, an espresso station, and it serves a Sunday brunch.
The Great Northern, as is implied in the name, combines a Scandinavian influence in their cuisine, with fermented vegetables and salmon tartar being two examples.
There is also outdoor seating, and in the summertime, you will get the golden hour lighting and the sunset.
The cuisine at the Great Northern also pays homage to Asian cuisine with some of their dishes and raw bar.
Inside, you will find a trendy and fascinating interior. With the large open spaces and warm dark colors, the restaurant offers an exceptional dining room setting for all party sizes.
The Great Northern has a splendid collection of cocktails, beers, and wines. The cocktail pictured here, named "Romancing The Stone", comprises Stonecutter Adventure whiskey, grapefruit liqueur, sherry, honey and lemon.
Another perk about this restaurant is that they make delicious espresso and other cafe drinks. The coffee pictured here, called the "Vermontte", is a crafted latte, containing
carrot juice spiced with ginger, black cardamom, nutmeg, cinnamon, espresso, milk, and Vermont maple syrup.
