Vermont has its fair share of waterfalls and we have gathered some that are hiding in plain sight. These roadside waterfalls in VT are perfect places to stop during a road trip, or with a stroller or a wheelchair.

1. Jeudevine Falls, Hardwick

These spectacular falls are mostly visible from the roadside, but you can see them up close, too. The most unique thing about Jeudevine Falls is that you can rent out the whole site for weddings or other special events.

2. Barnet Falls, Barnet

Just before the Stevens River enters the Connecticut River, this wonderful 60-foot cascade can be seen roadside in one final magnificent display.

3. Fairfax Falls, Fairfax

The spring runoff provides a powerful show at the Fairfax Falls! There is beauty to be found in each season and at any water level at this 80-foot drop which is fully visible from the road.

4. Marshfield Falls, Marshfield

This was once a single waterfall, but the Marshfield Falls are now split by a paved road. However, it is still fully visible without a hike.

5. Moss Glen Falls, Granville

Moss Glen Falls in Granville is one of the most stunning waterfalls in Vermont, and also partially visible right from the road!

6. Northfield Falls, Northfield

This may not be the biggest waterfall in Vermont, but the Northfield Falls Covered Bridge makes this a great roadside view and a lovely little destination.

7. Quechee Gorge, Quechee

The magnificent view from the bridge above makes it clear why the Quechee Gorge is often called "Vermont's Little Grand Canyon."

There are many little falls and gushing water found along the bottom as well.

8. Green River Falls, Hyde Park

This may not be a place to go out of your way to see, however, the roadside access of these falls would be worth taking a peek on your way to the Green River Reservoir.

9. Middlebury Gorge, Middlebury

Centrally located among some of Vermont's wonderful waterfalls, the Middlebury Gorge is not only available for all to see from the road, it's also a great swimming hole.

10. North Branch Falls, Worcester

We love it when we find a great place to see a waterfall and stretch our legs when traveling through Vermont, and you can easily see the North Branch Falls from VT 12. You'll love the powerful block style formation cascading into a large pool.

11. Northfield Falls, Northfield

This 12-foot drop located on the Cox Brook in Northfield is on private property, so there isn't much more to do than pop out of the car for a picture, but for waterfall lovers, any stop is worth it!

12. Woodbury Falls, Woodbury

The lowermost section of Woodbury Falls can be seen from the road, and they are a wonderful sight. If you're looking to capture the perfect snapshot of these falls, head there early morning when this dark waterfall receives a peek of sunlight.

13. Willoughby Falls, Barton

These falls aren't your typical dramatic drop, but at 100 feet long and 6 feet wide, they are worth checking out as they appear more like a rough river rapid than a waterfall. Different water levels and seasons bring many surprises to this special spot.

14. Sheep's Hole, Johnson

There's no need to choose whether you'd rather see a waterfall or take a dip in a swimming hole at Sheep's Hole in Johnson - this has both! A small swimming hole known by the locals, you'll love the four-foot drop, especially if you sit in the pool with the cascade providing a hot tub effect. Heat not included.

15. Thundering Brook Falls, Killington

Killington is so beautiful it's no surprise that you'll find lots of hidden waterfalls, but Thundering Brook Falls isn't one of them. It's not exactly roadside, however, access here is most likely handicapped accessible via a 0.1-mile boardwalk trail.

16. Upper Crossett Brook Falls, Duxbury

These falls are easily seen from Crossett Hill Road - so easy that you don't even have to get out of the car to enjoy them! Depending on the water conditions, you'll find a graceful horsetail or a plunging torrent of whitewater. Either way, this is a crowd pleaser that couldn't be more convenient.
