You’d Never Know One Of The Most Incredible Natural Wonders In Vermont Is Hiding In This Tiny Park

Compared to many Vermont State Parks, Branbury State Park is on the smaller side. Even though it's not the largest in the Green Mountain State, there are plenty of hidden treasures within this park that sits along Lake Dunmore in Vermont. This includes a short hike leading to Ethan Allen Cave; a lesser-known natural wonder amid Branbury State Park. Are you ready to start exploring? To get started on your adventure to Branbury State Park and Ethan Allen Cave, take US-7 South if you're coming from Burlington.

Once you make it to the park, take a short hike up to this cave, which is said to be a fictional representation of where Ethan Allen and the Green Mountain Boys might've hidden out during the 1770s.

For those unfamiliar with the Green Mountain Boys, they were a local militia group led by Ethan Allen that was active in territorial disputes during the late 1700s as well as during the Revolutionary War.

As you can see, the opening of the cave is wide enough to explore and for Ethan Allen and the Green Mountain Boys to have stayed safe.
